The end of June was jam-packed with a variety of design workshops, as the Olympic Coast Exploration Center building rapidly approached the end of the design development phase. On June 23rd, a team of Feiro and NOAA Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary staff met with the exhibit design team and some of our expert volunteers to walk through the exhibit flow for the entire building, one area at a time.
As we walked through the current exhibit design, the team gave feedback on everything from water levels in aquarium tanks to sign placement for ease of reading, as well as the draft map points highlighted on the digital interactive table, where people will be able to virtually explore some of the things that are so unique and special about the Olympic Peninsula.
While days like this are exciting as we get to see the exhibit designs taking shape, these workshops also remind us how much collaboration goes into creating an experience that feels inspiring for our visitors. Every suggestion, question, and conversation helps refine the final product, ensuring that each exhibit is not only visually engaging but also encourages curiosity and aligns with the mission to foster a deeper connection to the Olympic Coast. With each meeting, the vision for the Olympic Coast Exploration Center becomes a little clearer, and we're excited to continue sharing these behind-the-scenes milestones as we move closer to bringing the project to life.
