About OCA

The Olympic Coast Alliance fills a major gap in the conservation movement by focusing on the west side of the Olympic Peninsula. The Alliance seeks to collaborate with community organizations, local businesses, and federal, state, and local governments to protect Olympic Coast resources. Coordination with coastal tribes is a priority, and our Board of Directors includes members of the Makah and Quileute Tribes and Quinault Nation. The Alliance also serves as a watchdog, working with other conservation groups to advocate for progressive policies that shape how the Olympic Coast will be managed. The OCA Board of Directors brings together a diverse set of individuals with the skills needed to address coastal conservation. The Board includes individuals with training and/or experience in oceanography, fisheries ecology, environmental management, policy development, communications, and business management. Board linkage to the Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary is strong, with the Sanctuary Manager serving as an ex officio member of the Board.

Mission Statement

The purpose of the Olympic Coast Alliance (OCA) is to assure a healthy coastal ecosystem through public education and outreach, conservation issue advocacy, Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary support, stewardship programs, and a strong working relationship with coastal tribes.

Bylaws

The Olympic Coast Alliance Board of Directors recently reviewed and updated the OCA Bylaws to bring them in line with the way we do business. The Bylaws cover the purpose of OCA, the formation and structure of the Board of Directors, what officers we have and how they are elected, and how OCA conducts meetings and takes care of administrative matters.
